Hello Readers,

” Kadence Sparrow wasn’t born a devil’s child-she was turned into one. Now, she’s hiding from the truth, and running for her life.

For years, Kade’s true nature has lurked behind an illusion, so when her dad gets another job transfer, she knows the drill: no close friends, no boyfriends, and most importantly: don’t expose what she is. Ever. Keeping secrets is easy. Lies are second nature. So is the loneliness-and the fear, but when the Shadows attack, and Kade meets Cole Spires, she could expose everything she’s trying to hide.

As one of the Celestial Children, Cole lives by an oath: defend the Ward, protect the Primordial race, guard the gateways, and stick to his own. Everything else is a distraction, and besides, he’s lost enough. Cole’s job is clear, and no one his age does it better. So, when he meets Kade in a club downtown, he assumes she just wants his attention. Most girls do, but Cole soon realizes … Kade isn’t like most girls.

The children of heaven and hell are living among us, fighting an age-old war. And falling for someone from the opposition is not an option. But a chance encounter between Kade and Cole will blur the rules, as Kade’s journey to keep her truth hidden catapults them together and into a web of lies, forcing her to not only face the demon inside her, but to answer the hardest question of all.”

Kade is a 17 year old girl that has known all her life that she is different. This knowledge has forced her to obey some very strict rules: no close friends, no dating and the gold rule don´t expose yourself. She was fine with it, accostume to live a lonely life with no one else close to her but her father. This all changed when she saw a shadow fight in a club downtown. Is it possible they are others like her? What do the Shadows want? And what do all of this has to do with her?

Cole, is the alpha of the primori, strong, confident and way too smart. He has been trained all his life to become a principal and has followed and obeyed all the rules. But now, not all seems to be the correct thing to follow, and the investigations are leading him towards Kade and to protect her.

I was completely push into the story right from page one and couldn´t put it down. I just loved the book, the characters, the story and the universe that the author has created and how it is beautifully written. The only thing I would say is that at the beginning is was hard to understand the world created (primori and Daemoneum).

I enjoyed the chemistry and sparks between Kade and Cole, they are great main characters. Kade is used to being alone, never allowed to have closed friends and always hiding herself in case they discover who she really is. So her life has been lonely and has swang around her father. But she is smart and knows how to defend herself. You can see that she doesn´t trust people out of fear they discover who she is, and push her aside.

Cole, on the other hand, has been trained since a little boy by his father in order to become a Principal when he grows up. He is smart, strong and too confident which people confuse as he feels better than the rest, and that is why he doesn´t have too many friends. But he changes whenever he is with Kade, and you can see another side. I had a lot of fun reading the dialogues between them.

One thing I liked about the book is that the secondary characters are also very well defined, and made the perfect back up for the story. I liked Danny, he is not always in agreement with what Cole does, but he´ll do anything for him. In this sense, Draco is also a great evil character. I am still in shock with some of the twists, which I cannot mentioned to avoid spoilers.

At the beginning I was lost on the world of Shadows and the celestial children and what they do and why they fight about. Once it was more explained I was caught in that world. I thought it was a really original set up and story. As the author explained in more detail the rules and the organization of this new world it became much real.

As the story unravels, there are some twists, that if you have payed attention you could have guessed, though I have to admist that the final twist caught me completely off guard, and I found myself shouting ” Whaaaaaat??”.

This is a turn page action novel, that will transport you to a new world and will keep you reading until you finished it. I can´t wait to read the secon book of the ” Primordial principles”.

Have any of you read it?
